We lost our Emma-dog this past Sept. Of course I am not surprised we all have outlived her. I was no doubt thinking of "where do we go?" back several years ago when I worked out the design and carved the blocks. But the print has new meaning for me now since she is truly gone . . . through the forest and over the hills. She was a soul that connected pieces of our lives together through some very memorable years. And perhaps though her physical self is no longer around (to help when we are moving the sheep or play the entire outfield in our baseball games with three players) her soul is still connecting us: in our memories, even in her role as 'model' for this print.
